Description
The 2026 Honda CRF300FT (Flagship Trail) is the successor to the CRF250F, taking its place as the top-tier air-cooled machine in the CRF-F family. For riders in Acheson and Parkland County, the "FT" represents a significant leap in performance, offering a larger engine and more gears to handle the technical hill climbs and sandy terrain often found near Leduc. It strikes a perfect balance between approachable "first bike" manners and enough "grunt" to satisfy experienced trail veterans in St. Albert or Spruce Grove.
New Engine & 6-Speed Transmission-
Increased 293cc Displacement: Stepping up from the old 250cc mill, this new single-cylinder engine provides a noticeable bump in torque and mid-range "pull." It remains air-cooled for simplicity and low maintenance but is now tuned for a broader, more linear powerband.
-
Six-Speed Manual Gearbox: In a major upgrade, the CRF300FT features a 6-speed transmission (replacing the previous 5-speed). The extra gear provides tighter ratios for low-speed control in technical woods and a taller top gear for fire roads in Parkland County.
-
New Oil Cooler: To handle the increased power and ensure long-term reliability during hot Alberta summer rides, Honda has added a factory oil cooler. This is essential for maintaining engine life during slow-speed, high-stress technical climbs.
-
Heat-Resistant Clutch: The clutch features updated friction materials designed to withstand more abuse without fade, offering a consistent lever feel even when you're working the clutch through tight trails in Acheson.
-
Aluminum Components: To reduce unsprung weight and improve agility, the bottom triple clamp and the rear-suspension link have been upgraded from steel to lightweight aluminum. This helps the bike track straighter through the rough ruts of Leduc County.
-
Retuned Showa® Suspension: The 41mm conventional fork features revised damping settings to provide better resistance to bottoming out. The Pro-Link® rear shock has also been updated to offer a plusher, more controlled feel over stutter bumps and rocks.
-
Lighter Braking System: Features a smaller-diameter (but higher-pressure) hydraulic front-brake line and petal-style discs (240mm front/220mm rear). This setup is lighter and runs cooler, providing a crisp, predictable feel for riders in Sherwood Park.
-
Revised Engine Hanger: The shape of the engine mounts has been tuned to adjust frame flex, resulting in improved feedback and a more "planted" feeling when pushing through corners on loose surfaces.
-
Full-Size 21"/18" Wheels: Just like the professional race bikes, the 300FT uses full-size wheels, giving you access to the best off-road tire selections for Alberta's varied terrain.
-
Accessible 35.0-Inch Seat Height: Despite its larger engine, the seat remains slim at the front, allowing riders in Spruce Grove to reach the ground confidently.
-
Electric Start & PGM-FI: No kickstarters or carburetors here. The push-button electric start combined with fuel injection ensures the bike fires up instantly, even on cold mornings in Acheson or at high altitudes.
-
Modern "R" Styling: The 2026 model features aggressive new radiator shrouds and side panels inspired by the CRF450R motocross bikes. The side panels now use screw-type fasteners instead of rubber grommets for a more secure fit during hard rides.
Warranty & Dealer Support The 2026 CRF300FT is an off-road model and typically comes with a 6-month limited warranty. For our local trail riders in Acheson, St. Albert, and Sherwood Park, the Honda Plus protection plan is a great way to secure extended coverage for your new flagship trail machine.
